The 13th IEEE-EMBS International Summer School and Symposium on Medical Devices and Biosensors (MDBS’2019) will be held at Sunshine (Chengdu) International Conference Center, Chengdu, China, on September 28-29, 2019. The 11th International School and Symposium on Biomedical and Health Engineering (BHE’2019), sponsored by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), will be held jointly with MDBS’2019 at the same venue during the same period of time. The main theme of MDBS-BHE’2019 is “Flexible Sensing, Medical Imaging and AI for Cerebro-cardiovascular Health”.

The distinguished scientists and faculty members from the world leading universities in different countries are invited to give tutorials and present state-of-the-art technologies in the areas of biosensors and medical devices. The MDBS-BHE’2019 summer school sessions will include informative tutorials and laboratory tours, while the symposium sessions will cover invited talks and contributed presentations (mainly posters), which will describe original applications. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to submit their projects for poster presentations and to participate in the best student project competition. This event would broaden each participant’s knowledge and sharpen their ability to succeed in a rapid changing field of biomedical and health engineering.

The authors of the selected outstanding papers with journal quality will be invited to extend their contribution for the submission to a Special Issue on ‘Flexible Sensing, Medical Imaging and AI for Cerebro-cardiovascular Health’ in IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics.
